In the first instance it is of course important that your saddle fits well, but a saddle cover provides just that extra comfort that is pleasant for your miniature horse or shetlander.
The right saddle cover for your shetlander or mini horse
There is a huge amount of choice in saddle covers. How do you choose the saddle cover that fits your horse? First of all it is important to look at the shape and size of your saddle. The best is when your saddle does not come into contact with your horse. That is why the cover must be long and wide enough. That way you can easily see which saddle cover best suits your shetland or mini horse.
It is important that your saddle cover has a lining that ensures proper regulation of sweat and moisture. With the help of saddle and girth loops that are attached to the saddle cover you prevent it from sliding. The shabrak should absolutely not wrinkle under the saddle. If the sjabrak does, annoying, painful spots may appear on the back of your horse. Therefore look at a saddle cover made of sturdy fabric that is preferably also washable in the washing machine.
